About PSJD
PSJD (formerly PSLawNet) is a unique online clearinghouse for law students and lawyers to connect with public service job notices and career-building resources. Created in 1989 at NYU Law, PSJD has been maintained by the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) as one of its Public Service Initiatives since 2003. (You can read more about PSJD's early years here.)
As a collaborative project among over 200 U.S. and Canadian law schools, PSJD is a free resource for law students and alumni of our subscriber schools to search among thousands of public service job opportunities and employer profiles. Public service employer organizations may also post job opportunities for free. In addition to its database, PSJD offers an online library of educational and career-building resources for those interested in pursuing a career in public service. These resources are publicly available to all website visitors.
Job Seekers
Job listings in the PSJD database include internships (fall, spring, and summer), postgraduate fellowships, and a wide variety of permanent positions. PSJD also includes organizational profiles for nonprofit, government, and other public service employers spanning the globe (all the organizations that have listed jobs with us in recent years).
Jobseekers may search the database, bookmark opportunities for later viewing, and receive email alerts with newly posted opportunities matching their search criteria.
New to PSJD? Students and alumni at subscriber law schools may register for free. Jobseekers who are not affiliated with a subscriber school may purchase an individual subscription via the nalp.org bookstore.
Employers
PSJD enables public service and government organizations that meet our Terms of Use to post job openings and spread the word about their missions and programs - for free; so create a profile for your organization and post job announcements! Almost every ABA-accredited law school subscribes to PSJD, giving all of their students and alumni free access to the website. As a result, employers who advertise with PSJD will put their job listings and organizational profiles in front of PSJD’s audience (around 4,000 people, in an average month).1Footnote 1 Employers with additional questions may want to consult the Employer FAQ.
