Creating a Google Credential

In order to participate in the NALP Public Service Section’s collaborative file sharing experiment, you will need to have a Google credential you are willing to share with NALP that you will be using to access files in the Public Service Section’s fileshare. You do not need a Gmail account in order to create a Google credential; if you want you can tie a Google credential to an existing email account of another type (for example, your typical work email address).

  1. Visit https://accounts.google.com/signup

  2. Instead of entering a username in the “Username” field, click “Use my current email address instead.”

  3. You will then be asked to verify that you control this email address by entering a verification code Google sends to that address. Once you have done that, you should be able to log in to Google using your email address and join the Google Group to begin using shared files.
